For four years, the photographer Tomáš Princ walked the streets of Prague asking strangers to let him take a picture of them. He enjoyed photographing as well as the conversations, snatches of which he had collected. The book contents the best of his popular Humans of Prague blog, presenting locals and visitors as the narrators of their own life stories.

Funny or sad, they reflect historical events as well as life’s fleeting moments. Featuring a mosaic of fortunes, dreams, wins and losses, the book reminds us that Prague is not just the architecture but first and foremost the human beings we encounter.

Tomáš Princ is a Czech photographer and filmmaker. His Humans of Prague blog was awarded the Best Blog of the Year at 2016 Magnesia Litera Awards. The title refers to the Humans of New York project by the US photographer Brandon Stanton.
