The comic book series was created by an acclaimed Czech illustrator Štěpán Mareš exclusively for the City of Prague.

Štěpán Mareš is a prolific illustrator of books, graphic novels, strips, and freelance artist. An author of the legendary Green Raoul, political satire one page comic strips published in a Czech weekly for 28 years. He belongs to the prominent illustrator community.  

Franz Kafka

The graphic book brings an austere life story of Franz Kafka who belongs to the world’s most significant modern writers. The German-writing phenomenon of Prague’s cultural milieu from the turn of the 19th & 20th centuries is depicted as a sportsman and vegetarian who frequented Prague cafés and took part in passionate discussions. The book guides us through places of his childhood and teens, his favourite cafés as well as to meet his friends. It can also serve as a specific guide on Kafka’s Prague.

Albert Einstein

A graphic book on the iconic genius who worked as a professor at Charles University (then German University) as a Head of Theoretical Physics Institute in 1911-1913. During this stay, he made a significant shift of his theory of general relativity published in 1915. In his own words, in Prague, he had found “… the necessary composure to give the basic thought of the general theory of relativity a more definite shape.

Golem

Join us for a travel back in time to the 1500s reign of the Emperor Rudolph II with our graphic book on Golem, the mysterious superhuman from an old Jewish tale. Legend has it that on a dark night, the Rabbi Löw ben Bezulel of Prague created the giant of clay to protect Prague Jews in time of persecution.
