The villa was designed for himself by Jewish architect Rudolf Eisler before the war. The first Czech president Václav Havel purchased the beautiful villa in the Ořechovka district of Prague in 1993, when he was still with his first wife Olga Havel, as the proximity to Prague Castle was a major advantage for the President. The Art Deco villa has been renovated from the ground up. The reconstruction was undertaken by architect Petr Malinský, while the interior design is by Bořek Šípek. Havel’s second wife, actress Dagmar Havlová, still lives in the villa today. The house attracts attention to this day, especially for its size and architectural value.
