The Nusel Bridge, an iconic Prague structure, is a key traffic artery of the city. It connects Pankrác with Karlov and the centre of Prague and crosses the Nusel Valley. The bridge carries the busy north-south arterial road, pedestrian walkways and a tube for the metro is located inside the bridge. The bridge, which was completed in 1973, is the busiest bridge in Prague and the Czech Republic. Between 1975 and 1989 it was named after Klement Gottwald.
