overview about the place The most beautiful building in Kunratice is undoubtedly the Baroque Church of St. James the Elder. Originally, a Gothic church probably dating from the late 13th century stood on its site. The church underwent a major reconstruction in 1730-1736 on the orders of Jan Arnošt Václav, a freeholder from Golč and the owner of Kunratice at the time. The central building was most likely rebuilt into its present Baroque form by Tomáš Haffenecker based on a design by František Maxmilián Kaňka. The exterior of the church, with its distinctly articulated silhouette featuring a dominant dome and tower, is just as strikingly embellished as its interior. more about the place Regular roman catholic masses: Sun: 8:00, 10:00 Mo—Fri: 18:00 On Sunday evenings (except in winter), the Vietnamese community masses are usually held here at 7:00 pm, entirely in Vietnamese.
