Beth-el — Evangelical Methodist Church

This small white church near the Strašnická metro station, also known as Bethlehem Chapel, is a house of prayer of the Evangelical Methodist Church. The building, designed by architect Rudolf Sandholz, was completed in August 1924. The simple, single-nave chapel bears elements of late Cubism, rational Kotěra Modernism and Art Deco. Above the portal is an inscription with the Hebrew name Beth-el (House of God). The original single-storey extension at the rear of the building was replaced in the 1990s by a four-storey extension, and in addition to an apartment for the vicar, there were other rooms used for gatherings of children and adults.
