The Open House Festival has become a traditional architectural celebration, offering free access to explore the hidden gems of the city and enjoy the unique atmosphere of togetherness and excitement that comes with discovering new places. Each year, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors — not only from Prague but also from across the Czech Republic and abroad. Open House is the largest global architectural event. Through tours of buildings and spaces normally closed to the public, it provides a direct experience of architecture and allows visitors to explore it in various contexts. The festival will kick off on Monday, May 18, 2026, with a series of accompanying programs — including debates, lectures, guided tours, walks, exhibitions, and many other events. The celebration of architecture will culminate over the weekend of May 23—24, when normally inaccessible buildings and spaces across Prague will open to the public. For one weekend each year, the festival opens the doors of corporate headquarters, government offices, and modern technical structures that people pass by every day — buildings that shape the city’s landscape but whose interiors are rarely seen. Visitors will have a chance to explore historic palaces, luxurious villas, modern office complexes, train stations, as well as technical and industrial sites. You’ll be able to peek into both public and private buildings: senior homes, embassies, dormitories, new residential and office projects, technical monuments, castles, schools, gardens, historic palaces, and cultural or sacred spaces. Entry to buildings is free and does not require prior registration. Tours will be conducted continuously throughout the opening hours or at scheduled times (for tours specifically designed for visitors with visual or hearing impairments, children, and special tours led by architects). However, some events during the festival week’s accompanying program may require registration or ticket purchase.
