An annual showcase of bold, inventive music from all genres. Alternative is the desire to find new angles; music that is not afraid to step out of the box. With one of the longest traditions of any comparable Prague event, since the early 1990s the festival has been trying to create an alternative to the uniformed commercial festivals and find previously unexplored lines between international and local artists. The 33rd edition of the Alternativa festival will take place in Archa+ and other venues to be specified. From the original dramaturgical intention to bring leading representatives of the experimental, free-jazz and improvisational scene, Alternativa has moved to a situation where artists with the status of a legend or cult perform alongside emerging talents of the world and local scene.
