Wenceslas Square Christmas Market

Wenzelsplatz

Like every year, you can admire the festively lit Christmas tree and stands with traditional folk crafts in the lower part of Wenceslas Square. Traditional Christmas delicacies such as mulled wine, hot punch, and Czech Christmas cookies, including gingerbread ones, will be on offer.

Vendors from the Czech Republic and Slovakia will offer a wide selection of Christmas goods — from traditional ornaments made of glass, straw, corn husks, ceramics, wood, and beads, to hand-crafted decorations of all kinds. You’ll also find mistletoe, scented incense cones (Františky), and classic Christmas potpourri (purpura). The selection will be enriched by ceramic and wooden nativity scenes, lace doilies and tablecloths, crocheted toys, and many other festive items.

The market will be filled with the aromas of Christmas gingerbread, Moravian mulled wine, and even Czech potato salad — including a unique variation with caviar for the more adventurous. Visitors can enjoy traditional Czech sausages, grilled cheese, skewers, pancakes, mini donuts, potato pancakes, fruit skewers drizzled in chocolate, and a new variety of vegetarian and vegan treats. Of course, no Christmas market would be complete without mulled wine, punch, mead, and hot apple cider.
